11 month

Cube's First Halloween was wonderful. He was Nemo, since that's his favorite movie. We went to the San Antonio Zoo with my dad, his girlfriends kids(Gaby-15, Gabe-now 13, Kristy-10, Joaquin-5), & of course, Cube's Daddy was there. We all had tons of fun and watched a pretty cool puppet show. There were games and things too. Then we ran into a Nemo game. And Cube pointed at it and smiled, so we cut in front of the line and took a picture. (lol!) We were only there for a few hours and left because people were getting restless and you could tell the attractions were aimed at children up to around 5 or 6.

My Dad's girlfriend's children got here a little before Halloween while she flew to Guam to plan a funeral. She finally got to San Antonio on December 1st and Cube loves all of them. Gaby, the oldest, has babysat Cube an many occassions and I personally think he has a crush on her. She even gets him to take cute pictures!

Thanksgiving passed in his 11th month also, and Cube ate like a big boy with turkey and mahed potatoes and Mommy's famous green bean casserole. And of course, he loved it! 'Cause this little nugget loooooves food.

9, 10, & 11 months

Soo.. kinda been super busy, but now that the semester is over and Christmas has passed, get ready for the super catch up post---
9 months
We're zoo members. :] His first time to the zoo was in September. We went with Maria and her son Pedro(2) and later met up with Brandy and Aurora(9 months). He loved it!
Hanging out with Aurora by the fishies- his favorite animal.
Takin' a dip in the baby pool
10 months
For my birthday, the whole family(grandparents, friends, and an aunt) went to a corn maize just outside of Hondo. It was super fun and Cube enjoyed being ouside and even touching a goat.

Moving

Sorry everyone for the lack of posts lately. School started the same week as the previous post happened and we just got settled in our new home.

Oh! and he's 9 months now. Actually, nine months and three weeks. He's losing weight- which is normal and he's still on the right track. And as of this past Friday, he weighed 18 lbs. 11 0z. Doc said he's perfect. :]

Yes you read right at first, a new home. We now have our own little 3 bedroom 2 bath house! It's very exciting and Cube loves it too. Besides the fact that scorpions are known to hang out the neighborhood(we've seen one and then sprayed everywhere), mijo really enjoys crawling around with supervision.
This past weekend my mom even came into town to help with some unpacking.

Cube liked the days activities :]

And when we unpacked his highchair and he saw it for the first time... he already knew what time it was:

Nom Nom Nom...

Catch Up Finally

As most of you already know, Cube's Tio Sean, my brother, passed away August 23rd.
It was in his sleep and the cause is still unknown.
As for mijo, he didn't know what was going on. That morning I packed him and I up and we were in Killeen by noon. We spent the week there until the viewing in San Antonio. The only thing the baby went to was Saturday's funeral. He was fine and loved seeing the family and getting tons of attention. He was the little ball of light in the middle of everyone's dark moods.
He loved his Tio, and now it's everyone's job to make sure he always knows him.

RIP SEAN

Playing with his little hammer thingy:
Posing with his lion:
Beating up his lion:

And that's all folks! Hope you liked his little 8 1/2 month photo shoot!!

8 Months && More!

He is officially 8 months old. It's terrible. I know.
Anyway, the weekend after he attended his first birthday party. My friend, Ashhton, has two girls and the eldest turned 4. We were invited. It wasn't long after I whipped out my camera that the little nugget saw it. And then immediately, a smile.

&& eventually some sunglasses from the goodie bag made it onto his face.

The sun was in his eyes so he wouldn't open them, but still a good picture.
Me, Cube, My dad.

Mijo is getting so used to baths now, it's ridiculous...
He was falling asleep! Haha.

Well, video links to Youtube will be up shortly..... brb!

He learned a new trick- You ask him for kisses and he gives them :]

Mobile Baby Alert

Caution: Do not take your eyes off this boy for 10 seconds. He crawls anywhere and everywhere, pulls himself up every chance he gets and gets into EVERYTHING.

He has gotten sooo mobile and loves standing up. If you hold his hands, he'll walk around. But you have to hold BOTH of his hands, or he's terrified.

He has a new bouncer that makes little noises and melodies every time it moves. Apparently it's a good work out, because I left him for just a second and came back to find this.

&& then it became a habit.

A few weekends ago, my mom and brother came into town. My mom and I got matching toe tattoos and Sean got to spend time with his nephew. At first Cube was scared of Tio Sean because of this one sound he made when he tickled him. But eventually, he warmed up to him...

He loves his Tio. :]

Sunday, July 4

7 months

On Wednesday he reached the 7 month mark. Yay :]

On Friday he said his first word.... drumroll please....

MAMA!!

It was wonderful. Glorious. Spectacular. And now I get bragging rights for, like, ever.

He only says it when he's frustrated and desperately wants attention. And to be fair, he kinda says it to both his Daddy and I. He knows what he's saying though, so it counts. :]

Antoher accomplishment... he can now take a blanket off of his face. I'll put a receiving blanket lightly draped over his head and he'll pull it off! It may not sound interesting, but I guess it's one of those things you have to see for yourself.

Plus, he's quicker and quicker each day with crawling around. Well, maybe not full on crawling. But he'll crawl just a tad, then plop on his belly and low crawl on forearms, then repeat until he reaches his destination. This, too, is amazingly adorable.

Big Changes

So...

I have come to the conclusion that it is going to impossible to update something from every single day of my son's life.... sorry everyone.

I'm a busy bee being a full-time student and a house-wife.

However, I will update when I can..

Here are a few little details you all might've missed...

We got back from our Wisconsin/Illinois vacation on the 22nd.
As of yesterday(Monday the 28th), I now have class Monday thru Thursday, with Mondays and Wednesdays being super long. When Rudy has to work, Rudy's mom watches Cube at Cube's Aunt's house. This means Cube gets to spend time with his cousins Landon and Peyton. :]
He loves them.
He loves company.
He loves music.
He loves to suck his thumb.
He loves to kinda sorta crawl/scoot toward things he shouldn't be getting into(i.e. phones, laptops, remotes, trash cans).
He loves his ball that's almost the same size as him.
He still loves his Share Bear.
He still talks to his Share Bear.
He talks to pretty much everything.
He listens when people talk.
He listens when people laugh.
He even laughs along.
He smiles easily.
He eats solids easily.
(No teeth yet though.)
He eats meats now.
He's fed himself a strawberry and a piece of pineapple.
He can't feed himself little foods yet.
He's just learning he can make a fist.
He stares at his own fist VERY intensly.
He's funny.
and as of right now... he's taking a nap. :]]

First Airplane Ride

All day was about packing and being prepared.
My mom, my Aunt Irene, my Grandma, Cube, and I got to the airport at 4:30pm. Our flight was to leave at 7:15pm.

We got there and had to wait at the curb while my mom went and parked the car. After a while we went through baggage check, and gate security. Besides the fact that they made me take his botle from him to walk through the metal detector, Cube didn't mind the airport crowd at all.

Once it was time for takeoff, I had him on my lab and he started to fall asleep sucking on his mamon. By the time we were in the air, he was out. He fell asleep during takeoff!

The flight was only a few hours to Chicago, Illinois. However, it doesn't take this little nugget long to make friends. He was soo smiley at the stewardist.

Landing, Cube was wide awake. It was about 9-something and the city lights out the window was all he cared about. He munched on an apple while landing and when we actually touched ground, Cube didn't notice.

Anyway, we got our luggage, jumped in the rental car, and my mom drove all 5 of us to my Tio Bob's house in Wauconda, Illinois.
Cube fell asleep on the way so didn't visit too much before bed. However, Thursday is all about new faces.

Stay tuned!

First Dentist Appointment

The dentist says everything is moving along great. He looked around in his mouth and brushed his gums with a baby toothbrush. He even got to keep the toothbrush. It's red. He looks at it weird. But then again, he was looking at the dentist like, "why are you in my mouth? Where's my mommy?" I was holding him, but he was still concerned. He eventually got through this grueling 50 seconds and we started talking about cavity prevention. They were actually impressed at how well I have him eating. :)

After the dentist we went to..

-Rudy's work so he could get a TB test that he needed for his records.
-Palo Alto College so I could buy a book for my online course.

The entire time it was sooo hot outside and Cube got a little sweaty, but he was ok.
Oh! When we went to Rudy's work, we all walked around for a bit to get to the lavatory. Mr. Stinky needed a diaper change and the hospital is remodeling, so we went through quite a maze to get to a RR that had a changing table. During this mini field trip, Mijo got to meet lots of Daddy's co-workers. And, of course, they all loved him. The gift shop lady, Beth, was Cube's favorite new face that day. He wouldn't stop smiling at her and he loved when she blew him kisses. It was cute.

Anyway, back to dental news... we get to brush his gums once a day now. Hope he doesn't try to eat his toothbrush.
Have a good day!

New Friend

Her name is Andi Rae and she is the daughter of James and Bianca. James will eventually be Cube's godfather. Bianca is his wife. Rudy was the best man in their wedding last June... ...when Cube was still in my belly.

James and Rudy are BFFs(whether they'll admit the words or not) and couldn't be happier to have their kids play together. Andi is 3 months younger than Mijo, but she watches him like a hawk.

He likes her face. lol
She's so cute
Her and Cube had a great time together as well as us parents.
So.. that was our Sunday. :]

Wal*Mart & the Bath

Saturday was Rudy's first day of vacation time. He's gonna be off through Thursday! Isn't it great?
Well, to get his vacation kicked off, we got a lot accomplished.
At 9am we took Rudy to go take a class and a test to pass the written portion of his driving test. And he passed! Yay! Between then and 3:30, Cube and I just hung out at home. I cleaned a little and Cube got a bath. At some point he was making out with his wipe warmer and a picture was taken. I sat him up to take off his shirt (since he puked on the sleeve) and he just reached for it. The pic doesn't really show it all because he was was annoyed I interrupted them.

Once we picked up Daddy(and his awesome certificate) we came home to get a few things before heading off to Wal*Mart.
While we were at Wal*Mart, Cube got hungry and Rudy fed him so I could run around with the cart to get a few last things. I told him to meet me by the baby food. This is what I found.
Cute, right? Lol.
Anyway, when we got home, I had too many things to carry so I decided to try out the new umbrella stroller we just got. Cube didn't notice I moved him from his carseat; I think he likes it. ;)
Then we just stayed in all day. It was nice.
For dinner Cube had pears & mangos. And lately he swings his left arm around alot. I don't know if it's because he might be left-handed or if it's because the right side of his brain is thriving. (If you don't understand this, go here> http://viewzone2.com/bicamx.html Scroll about halfway down). Either way, swinging left arm means food everywhere. So this little dinosaur needed yet another bath. This was a fun bath; it turned into a photshoot. (Some parts edited for content)
