Bumbo!

Today was a nice day inside. It was way too cold with a crazy windchill, so I knew he wasn't going anywhere. Cube just watched movies all day with whomever was on the couch at the moment. He got a bumbo seat yesterday and spent some more time in it this afternoon. He enjoys looking around(expecially at the tv) without anyone messing with him. But he only likes it to a certain extent; if he sees you there doing nothing, he'll loudly insist on being carried.

He had a good quality time kind of day.

Another Playdate!

This time the playdate was at Karen's house. But before I get into that, I have some very wonderful news to share:

He laughed!! I was cradling him and I bent down and then straightened up real quick while making a funny noise and.... he laughed! Of course I had to repeat this tons of times. He had so much fun. His laugh is the most beautiful laugh in the world.

Now, onward with the playdate...

Isabel & baby Mariah, Brandy & baby Aurora, and Cube & I joined Karen & her boys, George 'n baby Kegan at their house for cheese & crackers and some awesome meatballs.

Isabel had to leave early so Aurora, Kegan, and Cube were the only ones lying down together. These babies are becoming more and more aware of each other and the expressions exchanged can get pretty silly.At one point while these kiddos were lying down, Cube tried to eat a few arms- once with Aurora and a few times with Kegan. He would just feel an arm in reach and bring it up to his mouth and start goin' at it. Kegan gave him the "umm... what do you think you're doing?" look. But Cube didn't care.
So to wrap it up... good playdate, Cube tries to eat other babies, and good day overall. Have a good weekend!

At home all day

Well at least Baby was home all day. My mom babysat so I could take Rudy to run some errands before he had to go into work. Then in the afternoon we just picked up around the house and cleaned, so Cube didn't get to do much but swing and conversate from time to time.

Early this morning while on his swing, he fell asleep in a strange position(-hanging on to the swing and a twisted leg). Of course, it had to be visually recorded. Hope it gives you a good smile :)

Tues. & Wed. of Spring Break

Tuesday was full of visitors including a lot of family friends and people who I have known since I was in elementary. Everyone was soo excited to meet Baby Rudy! He's got a lot of fans up there. We went to Wal*Mart to get out of the house and buy some plain, natural detergent to wash his clothes. Later he sat on Dave's(his step-Grandpa) lap and they watched American Idol together. His hands eventually made it up to his goatee and he was discovering facial hair. He kept opening and closing his hand and just touching and feeling all over Dave's chin. Pretty funny stuff.

Today there were more visitors and a lot of staring at my mom's dogs. Scooter is a sheltie(like a mini-Lassie) and Kash is a Yorkie(itty bitty lapdog). They bark at everything and the first couple times they were in the same room, Cube would look at me for an appropriate reaction with a weird concerned/confused look. Today I would face him at them and talk in a high pitch voice so he would smile. The look eventually developed into wonder; he wasn't afraid anymore. I'm excited about this because I really don't want him to be that 2 year old that screams if there's a dog within 20 feet. He's definitely comfortable with Scooter and Kash now so that's a good start. I even put his hand on their fur every once in a while if they were close and calm. He still has no clue what they are, but at least there's no fear.

On our way back to San Antonio, he did very well. I planned his bath as close to our departure as possible. We only had to stop once to burp him and change his diaper, but he was asleep otherwise. Once we got home, he was very smiley. I think he knows where home is. :)

(p.s. He kinda plays with and sorta chews on receiving blankets sometimes- so cute.)

Sooo sorry I didn't post anything yesterday. The day was spent packing up the baby and myself and comin' up to Killeen for a bit of spring break. We got into town last night around 8. Unfortunately, Cube's daddy couldn't come because of work. We are at my mom's house with my step-dad, my step-sister, Cube's tio Sean, my grandma, and, of course, my mom.

He has had a few visitors already and more people are planning to come over later.
He did really good on the road. The only downside was the fact that it's a 3 hour drive and he was pretty irritable from being cramped in his car seat the whole way here. Then when we got here, he refused to take a nap because he was so intrigued by his new surroundings.

He really stares at his step-aunt, Brooke. She has red hair and pretty tattoos, so I think he likes her "colorfull-ness." Needless to say, he was happy in her lap.

Well, still got a good day ahead of us...
