2 1/2 months

Yup. He's getting soo big!

We had a pretty busy day. Family breakfast at IHOP courtesy of my mom(v-day gift card), then took his Daddy to work, then hung out at Grandpa's all day 'till Daddy got off work. At one point there was a tummy-ache, but nothin' a little time lying on top of Mommy couldn't solve.

This morning while we were planning our exit strategy around Cube's feedings, he hung out on his favorite swing, and I just had to get a picture of one of those award winning smiles. He's starting to smile a lot more now. Wonderful, eh? And yes, that is a christmas sleep 'n' play; just hangin' around the house doesn't call for correct seasonal attire.

Well, like I mentioned, busy day. Gotta fold baby's laundry, then we're all goin' mi-mi's.

Family Day

He had so many visitors today! :))

First Grandpa on Daddy's side with Daddy's half-sister(2). Grandpa watched a movie with his son. Cube ate.

Then Aunt Michelle, Uncle Calvin, and cousins Landon(6) and Peyton(3) came over. Cube loves Chelle. She's babysat a few times before and he remembers her voice. They smile a lot at each other.

And Grandpa on Mommy's side came over for a few while Tia and her family were here. Grandpa says "goo-goo-gah-gah" a lot to him and both of them find this to be hilarious. They're pretty entertaining to watch. Once this Grandpa left, everyone else left not too long after.

Now it's just the three of us here- munchin' on chocolate covered strawberries and ice cream. It's the perfect little Friday evening indoors. More family time :]

I took a picture about an hour ago of Cube and My Love. We tried for like 5 minutes to get Cube to look at the camera, but he was soo intent on staring at the light bulb. The picture kinda looks like Rudy doesn't know how to hold his head right, but this kid won't let you. He really likes looking at ceiling fans and light bulbs; mobiles are overrated.

Have a good weekend ya'll!

Out and About

Best Buy & HEB Plus!

That's where he went today with Mommy and Daddy. He slept the whole time at Best Buy. Then during our visit at HEB, he ate and just looked around until we left. While he was looking around at all this unfamiliar territory, there were so many compliments! (totally not complaining). I don't think I've ever been stopped so many times in one place before. It was funny that a few of these people couldn't believe he is only 2 1/2 months. "His hair's sooo long!" "He's so attentive!" and "Nu-uh! REally?" were the responses to this cute little age.

At one point there were these two old ladies that passed by grabbing each others' wrists and hands, giggling and staring all wide-eyed like 1970s teeny-boppers walking by Steven Tyler. I loved this. And apparently so did Cube. He laughed once I did.

Yes, it's true. My kid's adorable :)

Just a Wednesday

Yup. Hump day. Nothin' out of the ordinary.

He "talked" and peed and farted and slept and ate and poopied and slept and laughed and at one point, got his nails clipped.
See, told ya- just a Wednesday.

OH! Wait. There is something to post on here.. We played peek-a-boo :]

Hope you guys smiled as much as we did. Ttyl

p.s. I know it looks like he's gonna fall, but he was on a bunch of pillows and was sliding deeper into one of those bead-filled ones. lol

Pee.

I know that title is a little strange, but there is nothing else to call this post. Because that is exactly what he did 5 times- I repeat- FIVE TIMES in 25 minutes. 4 were in a diaper, one was on his foot. I swear he peed put the 4 ounces he had just drank. We played for a bit, then he would cry, so I would check his diaper, discover is wet, then change him. We played for a few minutes, then he would cry, so I would check him, then change him again. The third time, I was carefully putting a tiny dallop of diaper rash stuff on my finger, then started applying it to his boy parts. The cream was going on different. I paused to think if I did it too quickly and the moistness from the wipe hadn't dried. Then I saw his foot. It was wet, along with the cover he was on. Luckily the old diaper was still there. I put a fresh one on, and sure enough, the cycle began again. "You leak more than a 70 year old man with a catheter." We both laughed. It was cute. He did a lot of smiling in between these diaper changes. He likes to be dry like any other baby. And it's my favorite thing in the world when he thanks me with a huge, no-teeth, gurgley, wiggly, smile. But of course I can't be stingy. I must share this self- proclaimed award winning smile with all of you.
The one more on the right is a giggling one. He doesn't really giggle though. It's more of a squeal that starts off as a gurgling noise. It's kinda strange when you first hear it. A lot of the sounds he makes recently resemble those of a baby dinosaur. I rawr at him trying to sound like a mama dinosaur and have a conversation, but then he just stops any smiling whatsoever because I was too loud or strange or whatever. But he's getting used to me. He likes playing peek-a-boo. He got scared once; I was too close, too suddenly and startled him. That was one of the times where only I laughed at my reappearance. But as long as my face comes back within 7 seconds, he likes it. And then...... you guessed it! Award winning smile. Ahh... It's great.

Gotta go get ready to feed the baby dinosaur before he wakes up yelling at me. Have a good Tuesday, ya'll!

Day 77: New sights & Sounds

New sights

He was fascinated with this rounded mirror that is above him on one of his swings. He's glanced at it once or twice before, but I think today was the day he saw his face and he was trying to figure out who it was looking at him. Of course this came with all sorts of movements and facial expressions, so the concentration just got more and more intense. Then I put my head down next to his and he was staring at both of us in the mirror. Needless to say, he found this very entertaining.

New Sounds

Him and I were having a conversation today filled with oohs and aahhhs. Then there was a good 5 minute period where the "g" sound ended a bunch of his words. "Oog, ahgg, uhgg, ooooggg." It was adorable. Then he realized he was tired and that was the end of that.

I love our conversations. :)

Until tomorrow, oog aag!

Initial info:

Name: Rodolfo III or as I like to call him- Cube, and sometimes Rudytitito

DOB: November 30, 2009

Weight: 9lbs at birth. 10lbs, 7oz at 2 months

Height: 21 in. at birth, 24 in. at 2 months

Hobbies right now: watching ceiling fans, staring at quadrilaterals

As of today, he is 2 months, and 2 weeks old. Starting from now for as loooong as I can, I am going to post something every day of his life about him. Even if it is a terribly busy day and I don't have time, I will find a way and tell you all that there is simply no time to go into explanation, but I'll give a sentence or two.

So.. where to begin. Well, he eats Earth's Best Organic Soy Formula, and likes it much better and digests much better than he did while on Similac. And yes, I breastfed, but at 2 weeks we discovered he has a milk protein allergy just like his daddy.

Oh! Today was his first day on a hammock. He loved it. It was 70-73 outside today so I we went to my dad's house and hung out in his backyard for a bit. He didn't like the sun in his eyes, but I put him on my chest and he knocked out quick. He had a good nap and mommy had some nice quiet time. :]

That's all for now. Be back tomorrow!
