First Dentist Appointment

The dentist says everything is moving along great. He looked around in his mouth and brushed his gums with a baby toothbrush. He even got to keep the toothbrush. It's red. He looks at it weird. But then again, he was looking at the dentist like, "why are you in my mouth? Where's my mommy?" I was holding him, but he was still concerned. He eventually got through this grueling 50 seconds and we started talking about cavity prevention. They were actually impressed at how well I have him eating. :)

After the dentist we went to..

-Rudy's work so he could get a TB test that he needed for his records.
-Palo Alto College so I could buy a book for my online course.

The entire time it was sooo hot outside and Cube got a little sweaty, but he was ok.
Oh! When we went to Rudy's work, we all walked around for a bit to get to the lavatory. Mr. Stinky needed a diaper change and the hospital is remodeling, so we went through quite a maze to get to a RR that had a changing table. During this mini field trip, Mijo got to meet lots of Daddy's co-workers. And, of course, they all loved him. The gift shop lady, Beth, was Cube's favorite new face that day. He wouldn't stop smiling at her and he loved when she blew him kisses. It was cute.

Anyway, back to dental news... we get to brush his gums once a day now. Hope he doesn't try to eat his toothbrush.
Have a good day!

New Friend

Her name is Andi Rae and she is the daughter of James and Bianca. James will eventually be Cube's godfather. Bianca is his wife. Rudy was the best man in their wedding last June... ...when Cube was still in my belly.

James and Rudy are BFFs(whether they'll admit the words or not) and couldn't be happier to have their kids play together. Andi is 3 months younger than Mijo, but she watches him like a hawk.

He likes her face. lol
She's so cute
Her and Cube had a great time together as well as us parents.
So.. that was our Sunday. :]

Wal*Mart & the Bath

Saturday was Rudy's first day of vacation time. He's gonna be off through Thursday! Isn't it great?
Well, to get his vacation kicked off, we got a lot accomplished.
At 9am we took Rudy to go take a class and a test to pass the written portion of his driving test. And he passed! Yay! Between then and 3:30, Cube and I just hung out at home. I cleaned a little and Cube got a bath. At some point he was making out with his wipe warmer and a picture was taken. I sat him up to take off his shirt (since he puked on the sleeve) and he just reached for it. The pic doesn't really show it all because he was was annoyed I interrupted them.

Once we picked up Daddy(and his awesome certificate) we came home to get a few things before heading off to Wal*Mart.
While we were at Wal*Mart, Cube got hungry and Rudy fed him so I could run around with the cart to get a few last things. I told him to meet me by the baby food. This is what I found.
Cute, right? Lol.
Anyway, when we got home, I had too many things to carry so I decided to try out the new umbrella stroller we just got. Cube didn't notice I moved him from his carseat; I think he likes it. ;)
Then we just stayed in all day. It was nice.
For dinner Cube had pears & mangos. And lately he swings his left arm around alot. I don't know if it's because he might be left-handed or if it's because the right side of his brain is thriving. (If you don't understand this, go here> http://viewzone2.com/bicamx.html Scroll about halfway down). Either way, swinging left arm means food everywhere. So this little dinosaur needed yet another bath. This was a fun bath; it turned into a photshoot. (Some parts edited for content)

Bye bye now!

Normal and Interesting

June 3: Thursday

Normal. Didn't accomplish much. Rudy went to work. Cube and I went to my Dad's. Cube laughed at Ellen Degeneres. That's all.

June 4: Friday

At first I thought we were just gonna lay around the house all day, but after we dropped Rudy off at work, I called Rosie and we ended up hangin' out at her house all day. Once were there, the day got interesting. Cube tasted a pickle. I had a pickle slice and let him lick it... and then he didn't stop! He made such an ugly face too, but he continued to suck on it despite the fact. He had an afernoon snack of a boiled-then-smashed apple and his dinner was peas. He played with everyone and got so spoiled. I came to the conclusion that Cube likes going to Rosie's. :]

To make up for this post's short Thursday and lack of visual aid, I decided to provide a list of new and interesting facts of the little dino that hasn't (or maybe has and I forgot) been already shared.

He tries to eat his toes about 3-4 times a day.
He gets distracted by his own fingers.
He gets distracted easily.
There are only a few movies/shows that he will actually sit and watch all the way through: Ellen Degeneres, Finding Nemo, Yo Gabba Gabba, Bad Girls Club, Ni Hao Kai Lan(sp?), Batman(the older cartoons), and a few more I can't remember.
He's sensitive about people talking about his toes.
He hasn't found a food he doesn't like.
He loves music, car rides, and when other people are laughing.
He likes the way my purse feels on his gums.
Dog barks don't phase him.
He curls his toes under when his shoes are being put on.
I think his favorite color is green.

And that's all I can think of off the top of my head. But no worries, you guys know everything eventually. lol.

Have a good day!

Shots for Cube

He had an appointment Wednesday afternoon to get his 6 month shots. He got a physical as well and he's completely normal. He's 26 inches long and weighs 16 lbs and 8 oz(on an empty stomach. lol) He's growing perfectly fine.
However, to check for anemia(low iron level in the blood), they still had to pick his finger. He didn't cry- just complained. But he got over it and even got a sticker with a car. He wouldn't let that sticker go.

After the finger prick, he got his shots. :( Then we took Rosie home since she was with us to help hold his hand. Once we got home, we didn't do much. He was all crabby and blah from his legs being sore and spiked a low grade fever around dusk.

Around the same time, San Antonio got hit with a huuuuuge storm. Our house was okay, but I swear my plants made a right angle from all the wind. Luckily, Rudy got a ride home from work and Cube and I didn't have to be out and about on all the wet roads. But everything was fine and Cube doesn't even know what happened. And that's the way I'd rather have it. :]

Memorial Day and Then Some

MEMORIAL DAY:
Didn't do much. We ended up at my dad's house to watch his cable and wash one load of laundry. He had his cereal in the morning like usual. However, this time he noticed the shadow of his head on his high chair tray. Then, he attacked it! lol. Here's the link:

& THEN A TUESDAY:
Rudy was off!
Cereal with apples.
Ingram. (bought a swimsuit for Cube and a gift for Grandpa's 50th bday)
HEB.
Get Daddy a haircut.
Home.
Lounge around.

Below is photographic proof of the most affordable, cutest swimsuit I could get the little dinosaur.(Props go out to Children's Place.)

Lounging around with our itty bitty family on our itty bitty couch was all we did that afternoon.
After Cube's day was finished, I went to my bestfriend (Rosie)'s house and Rudy's dad came over to see the boys. Eventually Rosie came back home with me and Cube got to see her for a little before his bedtime. And eventually, Rosie went home.
All in all, good day.

6 Months!!

I can't believe he's half a year already! It's like just yesterday I was telling people to watch his head and he needed to eat every hour and a half. Wow, time has really passed. He is developing into such a little ball of personality and is super healthy & I wouldn't have it any other way. Not only do I smile thinking back at what he's taught me, but I smile when I think of all the things he has yet to teach me. So, as a tribute to the last 6 months, here is a list of the things I have learned from my little nugget.
~'Mom' is too short of a word to describe any mother's job description.
~Night time does not mean sleep time.
~Baby sleep time does not mean Mommy sleep time.
~Anything within reach is considered fair game for potential taste testing.
~Bibs are vital.
~Shoes are not.
~You can plan your day, but not the order in which it occurs nor at what time things happen.
~Ceiling fans are cooler than you'd think.
~Shadows are more than what meets the eye.
~'Mommy and Daddy' are not only a team, but the entire league, managers, water boy/girl, and the spectators.
~There is no such thing as a boring day.
~Never drop the mamon.
~Babies can sense fear.
~Nothing can compare to a mother's love.
~And last but not least, Mommies really do have magic powers.

Sunday was not only significant, but also fun-filled.
We spent the day at Cube's Grandpa's for a BBQ. The guest list was Rudy(until he went to work), my Grandma(on my Dad's side), my Uncle Ra-Ra, his girlfriend(Michelle), my 2nd cousins(Ana & Alisty), and Cube & I.
Unfortunately, teething pains creeped up on us right as the party started gettin' fun. (I know he's gonna hate me when he's older for this picture. Tehehe.)

And Ana wanted to hold him sooo bad, so I let her just once. Cube didn't like that I put him down, though. lol
Once he calmed down a little, he got fussy again because he wanted to be around all the people. So I took him and he listened attentively to the conversation.

And when he became part of the conversation, this little conceited guy got bashful.
Eventually, we all ended up on the hammock. Who doesn't love a nice swing on a hammock on a nice hot summer day? (Right to Left- Alisty, me, Cube, Ana.)
And of course I had to get a picture of Cube suckin' his thumb sitting on his great Grandma's lap. I love this one. :)

It was a wonderful day :]
